Offsetting your carbon footprint

Like more and more people we are extremely concerned about the protection of the environment. At nvillas, we are taking positive steps to help reduce our impact on our surroundings and create a more environmentally friendly future.

This year and every year we are asking our clients to help us to reduce their carbon footprint. This can be achieved in 2 ways:

1. For every client who purchases a property through nvillas, we will plant a tree on the grounds at ‘Les Cygnes’, a luxury gîte complex in the Deux-Sèvres with which we are affiliated. This will help to create a wooded area which will, over time, absorb carbon dioxide emissions. The wood will serve many purposes:

• It will offset travel Carbon Footprints
• It will provide a natural habitat for local flora and fauna
• It will help preserve endangered species of trees, especially true of the Cormier (True Service tree) which is an endangered local tree
• It reclaims agricultural land, turning it back into a forest it once was.
• Finally certain types of the trees planted will eventually be harvested to provide wood for heating. Many species can be logged and will re-grow up to 5 or 6 times.

Only trees that are indigenous to the area such as, chestnut, oak, lime etc, will be planted. Each tree will be labelled with the family name that donated it and covered by a sapling protector.

2. Or for every client who travels to France to view a property, nvillas invites you to make a donation to a charity involved in helping to erase carbon footprints, shown below.
